Dental Implants

Yardley, Newtown, and Bucks County, Pennsylvania

Dental implants are the most effective, long lasting option to replace your missing teeth. The implant serves as an artificial root and supports a dental crown which functions as a prosthetic tooth. Your implant restoration will look and function just like your original tooth so you can smile confidently and eat all of your favorite foods.

Dental implants have revolutionized the way missing teeth are restored. They allow Dr. Kalochie to easily correct your tooth loss without placing dental crowns on adjoining teeth. This will help preserve the strength of your neighboring teeth and prevent future oral health issues from developing. Dental implants have also eliminated many of the hassles associated with using dental bridges or dentures.

A Collaboration of Specialists

If you have missing teeth that need to be replaced, Yardley cosmetic dentist Dr. Jennifer Kalochie will make an initial evaluation and determine if a referral to one of her highly qualified colleagues with advanced training in implant placement is recommended. She works with only highly skilled specialists in Bucks County who employ cutting-edge technology such as computerized Cone Beam Imaging (CT scan) to precisely map out the specific location in your jaw for the implant to be placed. Dr. Kalochie’s role is to restore the implant with a crown, bridge or denture in a similar manner to how these restorations would be made for natural teeth.

The Implant Process

Your dental implant procedure is generally carried out in two stages. First, the dental implant is inserted into the jawbone by the specialist. After the gum tissue is fully healed and the implant has bonded with the bone, Dr. Kalochie will need two separate visits to complete the restorative stage. At the first visit, a dental impression of the implant is taken and sent to a top notch laboratory where your new restoration will be custom made to fit into your mouth. At the second visit, Dr. Kalochie will attach the new dental crown, bridge, or denture directly to the implant. The restorative phase is usually quick and painless, injections are usually not needed, and your dental implant restoration will be strong, beautiful, and indistinguishable from other teeth.
