Dental Bridges

Yardley, Newtown, and Bucks County, Pennsylvania

Missing teeth create a variety of cosmetic and oral health issues which must be addressed in a timely manner. Failure to replace missing teeth can impact the long-term health of your teeth, gums, and jawbone. Over time, your remaining teeth may shift to fill in the gap left by your missing tooth, creating spaces that trap food and bacteria which promote tooth decay. Your bite can become misaligned, leading to broken teeth and TMJ problems. Missing teeth can also cause further deterioration of your jawbone, making you susceptible to additional tooth loss and gum disease.

Dental bridges are an excellent option to replace one or more missing teeth. At your initial evaluation, Dr. Kalochie will evaluate the condition of your teeth, gums, and jaw to determine whether this treatment method is right for you.

Do You Need a Bridge?

To fill in spaces where teeth have been lost as a result of infection or injury, dental implants are the preferred tooth replacement option. However, a dental bridge is a very effective alternative in cases where you do not have sufficient jawbone to accommodate dental implants. Like implants, bridges will provide support for a healthy bite and prevent shifting of natural teeth. They also offer you a beautiful, natural looking restoration that will last a long time.

If you are not a suitable candidate for dental implants and your neighboring teeth would benefit from having a crown placed, then Dr. Kalochie may recommend dental bridges as the best solution for your tooth loss.

Receiving Your New Dental Bridge

A dental bridge is a combination of dental techniques. There is a false tooth suspended between two dental crowns, which are bonded to the teeth on either side of your tooth gap. In most cases, Dr. Kalochie uses zirconium bridges for their great strength and attractive appearance.

Your dental crowns and false tooth are created by our experienced, talented lab partners. Once your new trio of restorations is sent to our office, we will have you come by for a fitting and bonding visit. Dr. Kalochie will check to make sure your bite is comfortable and the fit is secure before finalizing the bridge.

Please contact our cosmetic dentistry office today to schedule your initial dental bridge evaluation with our team. Dr. Jennifer Kalochie serves patients in Yardley, Newtown, and throughout Bucks County, Pennsylvania.
